P: The SMS module interface works on the basis that each workstation has access to the Microsoft Windows files relating to SMS.

Each workstation must be individually configured for SMS at the PC level, therefore ensure that the following .dll files are in each users registry.

A: For each workstation that you wish to have SMS access, you need to register two .dll files which relate to the SMS.

You will find the files in the working directory of PowerForce on the server - (e.g. P:\OINSIGHT)

We recommend that you copy these two files to your PC, into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory. Ask your local PC support to confirm this. Once you have these two files in the location that you want the, you'll need to execute the following commands (again perhaps best done by your IT support).

Use regsvr32.exe to register the following 2 DLLs

  • m4usms.dll
  • cshttpClient.dll

And eveything should work just fine. When you kick off the SMS icon in PowerForce watch the boot up status of the SMS in the lower window. It will display text indicating that you ahve connected to the SMS gateway.

If not, please do a screen capture of the SMS screen and send it into support.

[Vista Users]

If you happen to have a Vista workstation and the above fails to work for you, please refer to the "Registering dll files under Vista" to get an insight on how to accomplish the same under Vista.
