Q: "I need some help with OEngineServer.

I have followed the instructions for installing and configuring Oecgi2. I've verified the registry settings and the eServer.cfg settings to make sure they are correct. I installed Java and verified it was installed properly.

I'm getting the following error message when trying to start the OengineServer service: "Could not start the Oengine Server Service on Local computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."

Should I be looking at folder permissions, service logon settings?"

A: To start it manually -
From a DOS CMD window, enter
Start java -jar OeSocketServer.jar

If it starts from your desktop but not as a service, a common issue is using mapped drives as the path to OPenInsight or some tables. The sevice login does not run any logon script, so even if rights are sufficient, it will be unaware of any mapped drive letters. If mapped drives are the issue then the solution is to use UNC paths for everything.
